1. Who we are

The service is provided by Temple Payments ApS, a company registered in Denmark with CVR number 46454995, Højbro Plads 10, 1200 København K, Denmark ("Temple Payments", "we", "us" or "our").

You can contact us at support@templepayments.com.

A private individual who has been invited by a Company customer and has activated a cardholder profile.
Card
A payment card issued to a Cardholder through the Service.

3. The service

Company customers top up a balance in Danish kroner (DKK) and allocate amounts from that balance to Cards for the people they pay. Cardholders use their Card to make payments up to the amount allocated to it.

Cards are issued, and card payments are processed, by our Card issuing partner. Temple Payments is not a bank. A balance in the Service is not a bank deposit.

Where the Card issuing partner's own terms apply to a Card, we make them available to you. If they conflict with these terms on the issuing of the Card or the processing of card payments, the partner's terms take precedence.

4. Eligibility and accounts

  • Company accounts are available to companies registered in Denmark with a valid CVR number. The person who creates the account confirms that they are authorised to accept these terms on behalf of the company.
  • A cardholder profile can only be created by invitation from a Company customer.
  • You must give us accurate and complete information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password and sign-in details secure and do not share them. Tell us without undue delay if you suspect that someone else has access to your account.
  • We may decline to open an account, for example if we cannot verify the information provided.

5. Company customers

As a Company customer you:

  • use the Service only for lawful purposes and for genuine payments to individuals, and are responsible for any tax, reporting and other legal obligations that relate to those payments;
  • cooperate with customer due diligence (know-your-customer) and anti-money laundering checks, including by providing information and documents about the company, its beneficial owners, the purpose of the payments and the source of funds when we or the Card issuing partner ask for them;
  • invite only people you have a genuine relationship with, give us correct cardholder details, and make sure you are allowed to share those details with us;
  • are responsible for the top-ups and allocations you make, and for checking them before you confirm. Once a Cardholder has used an allocated amount, it cannot be recovered through the Service;
  • are responsible for the actions of the users you give access to your company account, and remove access for users who should no longer have it.

6. Cardholders

As a Cardholder you:

  • use the Card yourself and do not let anyone else use it;
  • keep your card details, one-time codes and password secret. Temple Payments will never ask you for your full card details or your password;
  • tell us without undue delay if your Card or card details are lost or stolen, or if you suspect misuse. We will then work with the Card issuing partner to block the Card;
  • can only spend the amount that has been allocated to your Card. A payment may be declined if the amount is not available.

A Card can be used until its expiry date, or until it is blocked or closed under these terms. If your Card stops being valid while an amount is still allocated to it, contact us or the company that invited you.

The reason you receive payments is a matter between you and the company that invited you. Questions about amounts or allocations should go to that company.

7. Funds, allocations and fees

  • Top-ups are made in DKK using the methods shown in the company portal. A top-up is available for allocation once we have received the funds.
  • An allocation reduces the company balance and makes the amount available on the Cardholder's Card.
  • Fees for Company customers are set out in the Commercial agreement. Any fee that applies to a Cardholder will be shown to the Cardholder before it is charged.
  • No interest is paid on balances or allocated amounts.
  • Top-ups, allocations and card transactions are recorded and shown in the Portal. Tell us promptly if you believe an entry is wrong. We may correct entries that were posted in error.

8. Prohibited use

You must not use the Service:

  • for any unlawful purpose, including fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing or the evasion of sanctions;
  • to pay for goods or services that are illegal;
  • with false or misleading information, or to get around limits or checks;
  • to interfere with the security or operation of the Service, for example by attempting to access data that is not yours, probing for vulnerabilities without our written permission or using automated means to extract data;
  • in the name of another person or company without their authority, or to resell the Service without our written agreement.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or restrict access to an account, block a Card, or refuse a top-up or allocation if you breach these terms, if we suspect fraud or misuse, if you do not provide information we need for due diligence checks, if there is a security risk, or if the law or the Card issuing partner requires it. Where the law allows, we tell you why, and in advance where that is reasonable.

Company customers may end their use of the Service as set out in the Commercial agreement. Cardholders may ask us or the company that invited them to close their profile at any time. We may end the Service for an account with reasonable notice, or immediately in the situations described above.

When an account is closed, access to the Portal ends. Any remaining balance is settled in accordance with the Commercial agreement and applicable law. Sections that by their nature should continue to apply, such as those on liability and governing law, continue to apply.

10. Data protection

We process personal data to provide the Service, to comply with our legal obligations, including anti-money laundering rules, to prevent fraud and misuse, and to provide support. We do so in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Danish Data Protection Act.

Personal data needed to issue and operate Cards is shared with the Card issuing partner. Company customers are responsible for having a lawful basis for sharing cardholder details with us.

A privacy notice with more detail about how we process personal data, and how you can exercise your rights, will be published on this website. Until then, contact us with any questions about your personal data. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).

11. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep the Service available and secure, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. The Service may be interrupted for maintenance, for security reasons or because of disruptions at the Card issuing partner or other third parties.

We develop the Service continuously and may change, add or remove features. If a change materially reduces what the Service offers you, we tell you in advance where that is reasonable.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Danish law:

  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill;
  • we are not liable for losses caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including failures at the Card issuing partner, payment networks, banks or communication networks;
  • we are not liable for losses that result from a Company customer's instructions, including incorrect top-ups, allocations or cardholder details, or from the relationship between a Company customer and a Cardholder.

Any further limitation agreed in the Commercial agreement applies to Company customers. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law, or rights that Cardholders have as consumers under mandatory Danish law.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We tell you about changes by email or in the Portal with reasonable notice before they take effect, unless a change is required by law sooner. If you do not accept a change, you may stop using the Service and close your account before the change takes effect. If you continue to use the Service after that date, the changed terms apply.

The version number and effective date at the top of this page show which version applies.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Danish law. If you have a complaint, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. Disputes that cannot be resolved are settled by the Copenhagen City Court (Københavns Byret) as the court of first instance, unless mandatory rules give a consumer the right to bring the case before another court.
